What to expect from the gigantic mobile show
It’s like Christmas for mobile-tech geeks — the Mobile World Congress, or short MWC 2019, is nearly here. The biggest mobile-focused show of the year takes place every February in Barcelona. And the event is less than a month away. So brace yourself for a deep dive.
Officially, Mobile World Congress 2019 takes place between February 25 and 28. You’ll likely see lots of launch events on the days immediately before the show officially starts though, and of course, Samsung is holding its Unpacked event the week before on February 20.
With over 107,000 key decision-makers expected to attend, the MWC is the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry. People from across the world take the pilgrimage to showcase and exchange their ideas. Global powerhouses like Samsung, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Huawei, and more are there with giant, spectacular displays — sometimes taking up entire halls.
For 2019, addressing the expansion of the event’s focus beyond just mobile technology. Indeed, MWC also draws many of the industry’s top companies to talk about the future of their devices and long-term ambitions; including 5G, mobile hardware and Android Enterprise.
Phones, Tablets and a hell lot of tech

There are two aspects to MWC: daily program, and the convention center floor, divided into 8 halls. Daily programming includes talks, masterclasses, and keynotes covering topics such as digital transformation, AI, robotics, IoT, digital identity and 5G — and that’s just the first day!
Digital and mobile have become a critical part of the event. Therefore, the need to evolve and keep pace with the latest innovations, newest solutions, and disruptive startup activity is highly important.
We can expect a lot Mobility management wise in 2019
All the big players of the EMM industry participate at this event and are spread all over the halls. Such as: MobileIron, SOTI, VMware, Cisco and Sophos.
A big topic will be of course the switch from Device Admin to Android Enterprise. Many of the EMM provider have partnered with Google and are “Android enterprise recommended”.
Further the announcement of Microsoft said it would no longer support Windows 10 Mobile. So a lot of talking will be going on about migrating from Windows 10 to a predecessor. Now officially dead, Microsoft recommends switching either to iOS or Android. Android phones became more and more attractive for businesses in the last few years. As pointed out by Jason Bayton; especially for security — In 2016 & 2017, Gartner ranked Android higher than iOS in a number of areas, including kernel security, exploit protection, network security, workspace isolation and more.
